Elton John: Hits Tour with Surprise Guest Leon Russel

One of the best concerts of my life. As a showman he took my breath away. As he’s gotten older and now become a father I think he has really grown o appreciate his fans. He spent around ten minutes signing autographs as a flood of vinyl and tickets stubs came rushing to the front of the stage.

His band was so solid and included member that had been in the band since ‘71 and ‘69. They added funk to some classics and absolutely delivered all the heart and soul needed to play the music from The Union.

The fifteen minute version of Rocket Man made me get why people love it so much. He played my personal favorite, Levon, early in the set and three hours later he was closing the show sans band with Your Song. I cried like a baby. An amazing night. A magical night. Here’s to you Sir Elton John, here’s to you.
